This is an age-old arguement....PS2 is beaten hands-down by Xbox as far as system performance. However, PS2 has reached its limits, so there is no room for any more legendary quality games on it. Xbox has just in the past year reached its limits in the creation of Halo 2, which you can notice by the glitchy loading of cinematics.

HOWEVER....if you were watching the feeds of the E3 show you would know the inside scoop of what has yet to come. PS3 beats all other systems HANDS DOWN. The only problem with it is that the price is predicted to be anywhere from $300-$1,000.....for those of you who cant tell, THATS A LOT OF MONEY!!! It has the possibility for up to about 12 players on a single console, 4 of them wireless....built-in internet capacity, etc....

BUT...the icing on the cake, that O so sweet cake that is PS3...there is Sony's trump card in the games to come. Sony is one of the three pioneers in the BRD technology (Blu-Ray Disc) with over 4 times the capacity of even the best of DVD's. This technology has been incorporated into the PS3's construction, and the graphics are so real that regular gameplay on PS3 will give Halo 3 CINEMATICS a run for their money (for those who dont understand the expression...it means that PS3 gameplay graphics are expected to be greater than the best of graphics on any other system coming up).

Not to mention, due to the capacity of a blu-ray disc, there is room for SO MUCH GAME, as well as the built-in graphics engine for the PS3 is THE BEST, game developers aren't sure what to do with so much room.

All I have to say is that the Xbox 360 pales in comparison, where at E3 all that Microsoft talked about was the new internet capabilities, and the system demos were almost all poor in quality.

Im sorry, but I think that in the near future there will be very little competition for the best gaming system. There will most likely be the Sony system, and then the poor man's system, because it is very likely that most people will be unable to afford the PS3, and that is the only hope for future Xbox consoles.

Gamecube and its descendants are doubtful to be around for long, and it is already somewhat prevalent, that Nintendo is soon to become solely a portable system-maker only, and Sony is even encroaching on those grounds, and beating Nintendo hands down.

The reason Sony is beating the competition so much is that their hands are in almost all fields of electronics. they are known for the best of TV's, sound systems both indoor and car, CD players and stereos, video game consoles, and lastly their endeavors into new fields of technology.

Lol duo, 12 ppl on one console? Isnt that really sad and un needed? I for one cant handle 3/4 players on one screen, ive seen a bigger picture on a gameboy. So then ud need 6 tvs, just for 1 console.

If the graphics are really that good, then why do people even fork out 400 quid on a geforce 7? Just to be beaten by some cruddy sony system?

up to $1000? The xbox 360 is £210 - £290, depending on what perhiperals u get.

What no one seems to understand is why xbox can be better. Its because microsoft have more money. thats why the are able to release in november this year. Dont forget, that because of this money, we get it at the exact same time as America, the home country of microsoft; Instead of waiting a good few months, just for a few hundred consoles to make it over here in england. Dont forget that microsoft have already bought the license for Rareware, allowing those excellent games we all loved for the N64 to come out for the xbox - Perfect Dark, Conkers bad fur day(Sumin like that, it was ace tho)

Has anyone ever seen the PS3 controller? Its a bismal, it looks so girly and gay. Personally, i dont care about wireless controllers, as id rather not have to splash out on batteries, but still, i have to admit, it is a nice thought

Sony are dominating the handheld systems market now. Ive only ever seen 1 DS, while ive seen about 5 PSP's, despite them not even being released yet

PS: Dont forget the interchangeable facias for the 360!

i would much rather a ps2 anyday have you seen how ugly(biggest understatement EVER made and that will ever be made) the damn thing is and i thought consoles were getting smaller these days i think microsoft are to used to making things that take a whole desk up they should stick to what they do best PCs

Griffin, PC has all those; you can get controllers e.g. Nostramo (which I HATE btw), every gamer on the PC has a mic and I even have a can cooler near mine (don't like pringles much )

Also, don't anyone DARE praise Halo; it is a rip-off of the original 2 DooM games and Quake and just made slightly more comical.

no i was referring to the fact that i wouldnt like to have the x-box sat on top of my desk as i would need to reinforce the thing and i would keep it inside a black box so that it couldnt be seen its just that damn ugly
