Unconfirmed; I heard a magazine that interviewed Bill Gates say that the PS3 and Halo 3 would release around Spring. If it is, I wouldn't be surprised if Halo 3 sold more games then Sony sold PS3s.

I mean, look at it. The Xbox was the first gaming console to go onto the internet, followed by Sony's extremely poor PS2 Online. The Xbox has better graphic definition (just look at Splinter Cell) the most popular games in the game console history, Halos 1 and 2, a better home website (check it out for yourself, playstation.com and xbox.com), superior coolness (the Xbox is cool and calm, while I heard one PS2 gamer call his PS2 "gorgeous" on the front page of playstation.com) and you have to remember, that when Microsoft planned it's own gaming console it had absolutely no experience whatsoever into the slowly emerging console market, yet they still produced an incredible starting line-up and turned the console market into a 3-way experience, the Xbox, the Playstation 2 and the Gameboys (forget about the Cube, I got one for £10 when the Xbox was selling at £50 and haven't touched the thing since). Despite that it has won by sheer numbers, the PS2 and probably the PS3 are getting worse and worse games. I'm not saying that the PS2 hasn't had it's own fair share of legends, but it doesn't look like many more are coming out, while the Xbox has Halo 3, Rainbow 6, the occasional Star Wars that is actually good, the Splinter Cell series and many more besides coming up in excited expectations.

If there are any PS2ers among the SL community, then take the torch and accept the challenge. If not, then my point is proven already.

Lol. Poor poor griffin. The X-box is only a crappy computer. In fact there is no reason to spend so much on a game consol when you can buy a computer for a little more. They X-box has a few good games admittedly, but it isn't even close to the wide scope of good games fir the PS2. The PS2 on the other hand was a step up from the PS1. It is a great consol but not the best it could be. The PS3 on the other hand is a completely different consul. IT has betters graphics then most computers do wile still stitching to it roots as a consul. The next X-box is going to be a step up, but like the PS1 to the PS2. The PS3 is going to blow X-box out of the water. Gates knows computers, PS knows gamers. Ask anyone, Why did you buy an X-box? they will tell you, "for Halo." Ask someone why they bought a PS2, and they will say "for all the awesome games."

The gantlet has been thrown. Lets see who wind . We should know this spring.

Tisk, the PS2 is inferior. Bad graphics, extremely poor handling of the analogues, rendering fps games useless on the ps2, crappy online capabilities, poor games (FFX - Its meant to be the best game for it, and its poor; GTA - that died out after GTA 3)

Xbox has supreme graphic capabilities, excellent online gameplay, free content downloads, a free harddrive, no more crappy 8 meg memory cards, but a whole 8 gig. Not to mention the superb games, Halo series, Tom clancy series etc.

The xbox is not at all expensive. They are in some shops cheaper than PS2's, as people think 'Oh sony, they are the best, so they must be rippin us off for some reason' Giving them a bigger demand

As for the widescope of games for the PS2 the only few unique games that arnt on the xbox that i can think of include the final fantasy series, and the latest GTA, which is a bismal.

PS know gamers? If they did, the controllers wouldnt be so pathetic. Small rubbish control, or one built for maximum comfort and easy gaming?

Computers, gamers? Computers are the ultimate gaming platform. The reason i dont have an xbox anymore, is because i can play better games than on any console. The more like a pc the console is, the better. Just remember that graphics of a console will never be as good a those for the PC. Why? Because the television lacks the resolution the display such quality.

In short, Microsoft pwn Sony

Ummm, why would Bill Gates publicise the PS3 release date? PS3 is made by Sony and Bill Gates is the Microsoft Guy. Anyway, a PC beats ANY console ANY day.

I'm not arguing that the Xbox is better then the PC, just better then the PS2. The PC is better. After all, we can't get SL on XBL (sadly ). But the Xbox has some things that the PC can't always accustom; settling dowm with a controller in your hands, a communicator on your ear and a packet of Pringles beside you. Yes, the PC is better, but I'm talking about consoles here. Where the Xbox owns all.

And Sarenbow, remember that "for all the games". All the absolutely rubbish games. A few good games, yes, but the Xbox just has more good games then the PS2 has good games. The PS2 has more BAD games though. Microsoft made a courageous leap against battle-hardened combatents, Nintendo and Sony, and came out singing. And in any case...

The name Xbox 360 sounds cooler then PS3.

Halo1 was only decent was not brilliant
Halo2 WORST sequal to a game i have ever seen
Halo3 be fair its getting as bad as big brother at this point and it took big brother 6 attempts to get this bad

IS, then please explain why Halo 2 is the best console game going then with a record number of releases on the first day. Please explain. And by the way, Halo 2 only shows how good it is with Xbox Live.

(plus BB got extremely bad at the second one, not the 6th)

And in any case IGN has the top 20 games on the consoles and Halo 1 was 6th with Halo 2 occupying number one.
