Assume I have a basic idea of how the game works.

I want to create a sort of roaming fleet thing, where I'm not really bound do a planet system, and keep all my resources moving with me. When I want to attack something or someone, I just move the fleet somewhere close, cap a planet that's close enough for i-flight, and pump out the ships I need that aren't capable of instant warps. The idea is the fleet proper only has instant warp ships and generally hides from threats. However, iirc losing all of your planets causes a defeat, and removes all your ships from play. Does anyone have any advice on ways to make this easier, and safer? Or anything explaining why this is a dumb idea :p

Nothing wrong with it, depending on the resource load that you anticipate it can require quite a few capital ships. Of course stable planets do allow for buildings and would want a number of assaults to be able to capture planets here and there- if regularly changing at least some of your systems then little chance of being defeated if keep active so not much chance of losing the ships unless you disappear for awhile

And to make it easier and safer... convince someone to keep you supplied with planets for a minimal per planet fee and you just keep 1 tranny, when it is filled with troops trade them for an assault and go crash it into a planet that doesn't have turrets (plenty out there), only thing you'd ever risk losing with a defeat is the one tranny

Seriously, Merinis, once you are active and decide that you are going to stick around, you'll want to join a clan. A clan will teach you a lot that it would take a long time to learn on your own. A clan can also provide banking services - protecting your resources on its members' well-protected home worlds.

A clan really helps. The biggest thing is to get 50 planets and keep them.
Of course not leaving your resources around to lose them ha it's benefits. Get lots of planets then build a big transport and keep it all there.

I have been wondering why the forums are so dead since my return.
I realize now that Cajin and Fort both have less than 500 posts after about 10 years. Also that if neither of them can work in bootylicious they will not post.
