Just had the thought that some of these changes or potential changes that are being discussed could cause some ships to be obsolete in their usage, how difficult would it be to make it possible to dismantle a ship and recover some of the resources from it. I could see this as being useful for new players also as they work to upgrade ships to higher volumes, maybe a 50% return on expended resources, including experience considerations. |

Sorry to distract from coding, but similar to you I had the thought and wanted to get it down, you can ignore it until such time that you actually have time for mods |

Experience will never be considered when dismantling ships - only material production costs (ie, if it took time to build a ship, that time would also not be refunded). In general, no changes or potential changes should invalidate ship types.

I was thinking of ship shields also if we go back to paging and they are of no use, aside from blocking the first page, then I would probably be up for recycling my shield |

Would they not be useful for burning down turrets?

They are transports, a lot nicer having 60-75 ships that you can hyper to wherever you are going to be attacking, especially with 90k defense each when you partially train them, takes a while to get through those 11 ships before you can see around it at all, but only have 10k volume so not particularly useful for storing things |
