Actually, there are a lot of inconsistencies within the bible. However, as a system of guidelines for living life, it is a very useful reference and I also believe it to be a work inspired by deity.

As for benefits of believing in God, there are many. University researchers have found, for example, that a firm belief in God is highly coorelated with personal happiness and with feeling successful in life regardless of worldly views of your success or non-success.

On the other hand, it does not appear to matter much in terms of personal happiness and satisfaction which variation of belief in deity you choose to follow. The statement that Christians are happier than non-Christians is one that is not so easily supported by evidence from scientific research on personal happiness, but it is supportable to say that believers in God are happier than non-believers in God in general.

Final point - believing in God does not mean rejecting science. Many of the greatest scientific researchers of all time have also had firm belief in God. They might not have accepted all of the tenants of a particular religions set of doctrines promoted by a specific church at the time and in the area where they were living, but they did have a firm and solid belief in the existence of and importance of God in their life.

Think hard and the mechanics that makes out world go around and provides 6 billion of us everything we need.

Think harder about how (despite the combined knowledge of thousand of generations) we have found no such mechanics anywere else in the universe.

According to the generaly accepted theory for the creation of the universe (big bang theory) the whole universe evolved from a single point no larger than a tenis ball.

How could something the size of a tenis ball evolve into something of infinite size?

There simply is no resonable scientific answer to that question (and i doubt there will ever be an answer).

Think about that and you will know god exists.

Note: I am "traditionally" a muslim (although in my country religion is not taken seriously), and i do not consider myself less happier than any christian. Lets also not forget that if it werent for the muslims, who preserved the knowledge of the ancient greeks, egyptians, romans... western europe would have had very little materials to begin the reinessance.

Do not missunderstant me i am not insulted by your remark simply because its not true. You simply can not relate religion with happyness.

...okay I would go with probability. there are bound to be planets with life and its likely each one was so isolated at first that it wondered why me? perhaps some special deity made me. Now you asked why we havent found others. Again I say probability. What are the chances that before even one human has gone to the next planet we are going to find another form of life. Space is pretty big. as for the big bang...gravity is how. Do you believe in black holes? Because they extremely small and continue huge amounts of matter and consistently suck more in.

Dont get me wrong I believe that there is probably something that created the universe. Im just in no position to determine who is right or if anyone is right for that matter.
