Ireal has never tried to appease with land. Isreal has had to give back land it kept after self defense invasions. Western europe and America has directly led to the problem as it exists now. We created the power/education vacuums that have led to the rise of these groups. The sad thing is, since the side are so mismatched that no arab states will step up to crush the insurgant groups because they tend to have wide low level appeal at home.

People... just a suggestion here. Stop citing news sources. If you get your "FACTS" from MSNBC or the BBC, don't post them here. Sure, go ahead and argue your oppinion of the war, but don't keep saying that either Israel or Lebanon is right. Ya wanna know why. Let me give you a quote.

Isreal underestimated the Strength of Hezbollah and are paying for it, however that can not be used as an excuse for allowing it to continue, as far as i am concerned this is not a crisis this is a WAR, a ceasefire is needed, and hezbollah need to be disarmed, but most of all

IRAN need to wake up to the rest of the world

Does it really!(no i am not protecting terrorists). I had a friend who was a muslim & in the 4 or so years I knew him I never once saw him attempt to murder me or anyone else, The same seems true with the majoity of muslims(some of whom live in the west)otherwise there would be numerous muders we here about all the. its a shame ive lost contact with him since i move home otherwise I would have asked him. (although I have heard Saudi Arabia has some very strange & harsh laws for example forbiding Christians and other non-Muslims to meet for public worship see http://www.hrwf.net/html/saudi_arabia_2003.html ).

I had the impression that sometimes (as happend on 9/11 & 7/7) that it was the occasional dodgy muslim cleric that misled & brainwashed certain people that then became terrorists

I have however heard & read that the Iranian government(the guys suppling hizbolla with rockets) has stated that they wish to wipe Isreal of the face of the earth. According to an article i read in a newspaper I read they also stated that once their done with Isreal Britan is next apparently because the US & Austrailia were previous colonies of The UK & is therefore the mother of the evil. All of which is utterly unreasonable in my view & very scarry & terrifiing at the thought that this can come from an actual goverment. No wonder next to none wants them to have nukes.

However if the UK & the US had not caused a coup d'état & overthrow a democratically elected government in Iran in the 50's during operation ajax to install an oppressive dictatorship its quite likely in my view that the iranian ismalmic revolution of the 70's might not have happened the ayatollas would not have come to power & there might have been one less threat to me walking down the street minding my own business or sitting down at home playing sl. Also hizbolla might not have got as many of its weapons to attack Isreal with a major part of this current conflict.

Would any group of people kidnap two soldiers, bomb a nieghboring country, and start a campaign to kill all Jews, if they were not a terrorist group? Iran is supplying Hezbollah with weapons and misiles, and we already know that Iran is in league with terrorists, so what does that say about Hezbollah? Isreal has every right to defend themselves, Hezbollah was the first to strike in the first place (with misles and kidnaping of soldiers)

well i have to disagree with you once again b/c Hezbollah underestamated Isreal when they kidnapped the two soldiers, the leaders of Hezbollah even said that they didn't expect Isreal to react like they did, so tell me who underestimated whom? and as i said ceasefires will only allow Iran to resupply Hezbollah wiht more weapons and The UN and a world wide peace keeping force would havea hard time finding and disarming Hezbollah b/c they are hidden within the lebanese population. and also the land was taken by isreal in previous wars... so what! The united states got all of its land by fighting who is to say that the land doesn't belong to us? Isreal gave the land to attempt to apease them like I said it oviusly didn't work! a ceasefire is not true peace it is only a time of false peace and preparation of war that will eventually breakout once again and probably with much greater force.
