Is there a chip that I can put on my hard drive to fry the data? ( i build comps, so u can point me in the right direction)

Also, if there is...i wish to assign the f11 and f12 keys (getting a sticker with the f11 keysaying "password" and the f12 key saying "Self Destruct" which will send a command to the chip to fry my hd...

a little programming is in order...but if this exists, I need to know a few things.

i sincerely doubt they'd be mass produced for the open market. but perhaps a little fiddling with the printer output, and your hdd power supply.

of course the data would still be readable

And I switched Hard Drives...so It's stored away somewhere... (no HD, no nutin)

Use modern tech. I always favored the door chime rigged to a micropump that pumped acid into the HD case ( it also needs to be rigged to the comp so the power is disconnected and the HD stops spinning) That 's up the Hd and eats into the magnetic material making it unreadable. It also eats up the inards, depending on the acid you use you can also put different materials at the bottom to make it smoke/catch fire, that way whom ever is after you comp will think twice before picking it up. It will give the acid more time to etch the HD and destroy it. I'd rigg it up battery powered that way it will still work even if they cut your power. Outside of that the only way to really be safe is to manually disconnect and use a hole punch directly onto the magnetic disk. Of course this is all theoretical use at your own risk and discression.
