The way you used to be able to get 206 was to capture a 70k def planet while your ship had 199% exp. Dont know if it still works now...

oh...idk....i had 194 and captured a 140k planet and only got to 200

no it was when 200% was max
However the ship still could only take 1.5 mill def, so i wasted my res getting it so high

Yeah, you can go over 200% as the shown exp of the ship, but when it attacks, the exp effect is still on 200%, so these are mostly just useful for showing off. The extra exp does not do anything for you when fighting or capturing if it is over 200%, and the first time you use the ship to do anything, it resets to 200% if it survives the attack.
