Oh I love this argument.

1. English Football ie. soccer is an international sport, with international players in other country's leagues regularly eg: Christiano Ronaldo, a Portugese player playing for Man Utd-english club (one of the best ). American Football is still entering the stage of getting one or two in their entire league.

2. American Football's mother was Rugby, don't diss.

3. In english football there is a World Cup incorparating most countries on Earth, one of which is the US yes, although they haven't won it. Obviously, there is no American Football equivalent.

4. Note the term football. Where you use your foot.

Sorry, I just wanted to clarify those facts before we go any farther.

And personally, I watched the last Superbowl at 2 in the morning and it was so boring I slept through half of the 2nd half. So excited by 5 yards...5 yards doesn't get a 'touchdown'.
