Well, its not anime, but I LOVE Ultraman.
1960s to the present, men in rubber monster suit battles. Gotta love it, its just soooo tacky and cheesy.

I've actually only seen the older ones like ultra seven. They're just mental.
I saw a documentary last week which interviewed one of the monster designers, and they even showed you how they made a monster suit! It's very elaborate. They had the original designs for the monsters too, and the guy was saying what had inspired them - like plant textures and things. It was geekily interesting. I sat on my sofa, munched my snacks and said, "Cool" a little too much....
